Expressions of Interest for 2027 coaching positions are now open. Darebin United is seeking positive, reliable and player-focused coaches across MiniRoos, junior and senior programs. Coaches should be committed to creating safe and inclusive environments, communicating clearly with players and families, supporting the club’s football philosophy and participating in coach development. Applicants can nominate preferred age groups and roles through the Coach EOI. Appointment decisions will consider experience, qualifications, availability, alignment with club values and the needs of each team.

Darebin United is now inviting Expressions of Interest from coaches who want to be part of our 2027 football program.

We welcome interest from experienced coaches, developing coaches and people ready to take their first formal coaching role with the right club support.

Coaching opportunities for 2027

Applicants can nominate the age groups and roles that best match their experience, interests and availability.

MiniRoos teams — U7 to U11
Junior teams — U12 to U17
U18 and senior pathway roles
Girls and women’s football
Assistant coaching and specialist support roles, where required

Final roles depend on player numbers, team formation, coaching coverage and the needs of the overall football program.

What we expect from our coaches

Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate training sessions
Create a safe, inclusive and respectful team environment
Support individual development as well as team performance
Communicate clearly and consistently with players and families
Work constructively with team managers, fellow coaches and football leaders
Follow club policies, safeguarding standards and competition requirements
Participate in club coach-development and alignment activities

Qualifications and safeguarding

Applicants should provide details of any current coaching qualifications, relevant football experience and previous coaching roles.

Coaches must meet the club’s safeguarding and screening requirements for their appointed role, including providing current Working with Children Check information where applicable.

Applicants who are still developing their formal qualifications are encouraged to apply. The club will consider the complete person, their values and their willingness to learn.

How appointments will be made

Submit an EOI with your preferred age groups, role, experience and availability.
Club review against player numbers, team needs and the football structure.
Conversation or interview with relevant club football leaders where required.
Checks and alignment covering qualifications, safeguarding, references and club expectations.
Appointment confirmation as teams and coaching structures are finalised.
